 Want to discover how
those sand studs on "Bay Watch" keep such a great physique? It's in the meat. We
all know how dry ground turkey can be, but placing a tablespoon of Boursin cheese
(especially the peppered version) between the patty makes this meal glisten with taste.
- ½ small red onion
- ¾ pound ground turkey
- 2 tablespoons Boursin cheese
- Prepare grill.
- Finely chop onion. In a bowl, gently combine onion and
turkey ( do not overmix) and form into four ½ inch thick patties. Center 1 tablespoon
Boursin on each of 2 patties and top with remaining 2 patties, pressing edges together to
seal.
- Season burgers with sea salt and pepper and grill on a
lightly oiled rack until cooked through.
Interview
with Author Larrian Gillespie
 Larrian:
The Gladiator Diet is designed to help men lose weight and stay healthy. It also focuses
on the secret topic of impotency. According to Dr. Gillespie, men do not have to suffer
from impotency. She shows through life style changes, diet, and exercise how every man,
irregardless of his age, can be a true Gladiator.
The Gladiator Diet is full of the latest information about
men's health and dietary needs. Dr. Gillespie's food plan can help every man stay fit and
virile. She includes recipes and food preparation suggestions.
Millions of women have found great health and weight loss
by using her books The Menopause Diet and The Goddess Diet. Now, she has created a plan
for men.
Sue:
Your book The Gladiator Diet is incredible, so thorough and complete. As I was
reading it I really appreciated how you directed the information to the women in men's
lives. What made you decide to take this approach?
Larrian:
Men simply don't go looking for health information unless they fear something rather
important is going to fall off! So, I realized that women, whether we like it or not, are
the ones who could make the men in their lives healthier if they had the right information
to alter the diet they feed their men. As a urologist, diet was not even discussed as a
way to alter testosterone, yet it is critical in maintaining the right balance of free
testosterone to estradiol in a man. Surprised that men produce that sissy hormone? Nature
provided for a "breaking" mechanism if a man produced too much testosterone at
once by shifting the metabolism of testosterone into estradiol. Unfortunately, there are
numerous ways to increase this conversion, and body fat is the most sensitive one. As
little as 10 pounds of extra intra-abdominal fat on a man can significantly lower his
testosterone, which can lead to an increased risk of impotency, diabetes, heart disease
and strokes. "The Gladiator Diet" explains all the mechanisms behind this
process and how to eat in order to maximize a man's testosterone balance.
Sue:
Most men don't take care of themselves; some of them have to be half dead to get
them to go to the doctor's office. How do you recommend we get our guys to use your book?
 Larrian:
I discovered that women who previewed this book for me found themselves reading out loud
various parts of the book to their men, and finding the man would then read the book and
even start quoting things to other men, as proof they were a true gladiator. In short....I
have shamelessly appealed to the male ego by emphasizing the sexual impact diet has on
their health, while informing them "gently" about the medical issues behind
obesity in men. I think the opening sentence of my book says it all: "If doctors were
after-hours lingerie models, men wouldn't need to be dragged in by their ears for
treatment of any medical problem where there wasn't serious jeopardy of something
important "falling off."" Men will pay attention to health issues if they
relate to sex...so don't miss the "penis pushups" in the exercise chapter. It's
an all around winner!
Sue:
Sexuality is always important to men and to the ladies in their lives : ). I have
found that men usually don't get concerned about their health unless it involves their
sexuality. Why do you think this may be true?
Larrian:
Sigh....men were given two heads and only enough blood to think with one at a time, so no
wonder they put sexuality first when it comes to health concerns. However, I believe
today's "Gladiator" understands he wants to be around for his grandchildren and
to enjoy his lifelong companion in a healthy, rather than a disabled state of affairs. I
have even received numerous emails from men thanking me for using them as the model on the
cover! All men see themselves as gladiators-strong, fit and fearless, willing to take on
any challenge. So, use the Gladiator Diet as the "training manual" for your man.
I've even received orders where daughters have sent the book to their fathers, sisters to
their brothers and of course, wives to their husbands. Men seem to order both The Goddess
and Gladiator Diet together, which shows a concern for BOTH their health. Over 30 million
men have taken Viagra for erectile dysfunction brought about by reversible conditions. The
information in "The Gladiator Diet" allows women to lead their men into the
arena of natural health by showing them how to eat like warriors in order to preserve a
man's hormonal gold - testosterone.
The Hard Truth About Testosterone

It's a fact: men won't go to the doctor unless they
fear something rather important is going to fall off. I should know. As one of the first
women in the field of urology I specialized in treating men and women's "private
parts," giving me a unique perspective as a physician into the healthcare concerns of
men of all ages. While women routinely seek medical advice to improve their general
health, men seek medical advice to improve their general health, men see a doctor, on
average, 27 percent less often then women. Although men represent nearly half the
population of the united States, they account for only 40 percent of physician's visits,
according to the National Institutes of Health. No wonder men die about seven years sooner
than women!
 In
all fairness, medicine has neglected the mid-life male, performing studies on healthy 22
year-olds to determine what is normal, then focusing on the "mature" man already
affected by high cholesterol,
lower testosterone levels, impotency and heart
disease. But guys need to realize carrying around a waistline of 42 inches or greater at
ANY age doubles their risk of impotency, heart disease,
diabetes, high blood pressure, brittle bones and strokes.
An estimated 11 million Americans suffer type 2 Diabetes
from being overweight,
and more than half have high blood pressure, any of which can damage sensitive small blood
vessels, including those that fill the penis. Men are developing brittle bones at an
alarming rate, with one in every five victims of osteoporosis sporting a Y chromosome. But
the real concern comes from increased cholesterol levels at a young age, which can result
in the body producing inflammatory chemicals that rupture the linings of the small
vessels, leading to permanent tissue damage, including areas like the.

The Andropause is a syndrome in men
usually above 50 years who may have low testosterone and decline in other hormones. The
decline in hormones is not universal and not all men undergo this process to the same
extent. Studies have found that total and free testosterone begin to decline at about 50
years. Find out about World Differences
