Gregg's Honey Cookies are perfect for the holidays and
every day. They are simple to prepare and even easier to eat! Kids will love to get in on
rolling the dough into little balls!
Honey Cookies make a
wonderful holiday gift
when placed in an attractive cookie tin or as an addition to any gift basket.

Honey Cookies
What you need:
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 cup of vegetable shortening
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 1 large egg yolk
- Granulated sugar for rolling
What you do:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine the flour and baking soda.
- In a large saucepan, melt the vegetable shortening with the
honey, stirring until smooth. remove from the heat and beat in the sugar. beat in the egg
yolk. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
- Pinch off walnut-sized pieces of dough and roll into small
balls. Roll the balls in the granulated sugar and place 1 1/2 inches apart on ungreased
baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until lightly colored. Transfer to
wire racks to cool.
