ggillespie.jpg (4208 bytes)This week's Dessert of the Week comes from noted cookbook author and chef Gregg Gillespie. His Chocolate Spiders, featured in his popular book 1001 Chocolate Treats, are perfect for any Halloween party or celebration! They are simple to make and delicious to eat!

 

jackolantern.gif (3720 bytes)1001 Chocolate Treats is an encyclopedia of chocolate delights featuring all things chocolate - from candies to decadent chocolate cakes. Make sure to make a double batch because your little goblins will be sure to gobble them up!

Chocolate Spiders

What you need:

  • 12 ounces of semisweet chocolate, grated or finely chopped
  • 1 can (5 ounces) chow mein noodles
  • 1 cup of salted peanuts

What you do:

  1. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.
  2. Melt chocolate. remove from the heat. Add the noodles and peanuts and stir and fold until the noodles are well coated.
  3. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared pan. Chill for at least 8 hours, or until ready to serve.

Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake
