Q:
"Since I
have been going through perimenopause
I have gained over 20 pounds! I'm not eating any extra but the weight keeps coming.
I ordered The Menopause Diet, it sounds like it could really help me. How do I can
started with this diet?"
A:
The Menopause Diet by Dr.
Larrian Gillespie is a terrific book because the diet was designed for women just like
you! Dr. Gillespie understands, and she explains, in her book, why women gain
weight during perimenopause and menopause. Most importantly she has studied and knows how
we can keep the excess weight off and even lose weight . Many women find that
just by changing their eating habits they lose weight.
Women use food differently
than men.
We need different nutrients to stay slim, there are foods like
white carbohydrates (white breads, white pastas etc...) that cause us to gain weight and
fast! This is called carbohydrate
sensitivity. While they taste great going down they glue themselves on to our
hips!
The basis of The Menopause Diet is to eat well. Meals are
increased to 5-6 per day and are small so that you won't get hungry. The Menopause
Diet focuses on eating lean proteins like fish and chicken and lots of vegetables and
fruits. As far as carbohydrates are concerned, there are big differences between
carbohydrates. In the book, there are great recipes for whole wheat pasta
dishes, brown and whole grain breads, and desserts too that won't add any more bulge to
the battle!
By changing your eating habits not only can you prevent diabetes, high
blood pressure, and other chronic illnesses you get extra energy and sleep better.
The Menopause Diet is not a fad - it's the way for women to
eat to stay healthy, young and vibrant.

"My book is
gone - all my girlfriends are busy passing it around!!"
From: Kathy Atwell
 I can see so
many friends interested in the Menopause Diet - and rightly so!! Y'all need to go to
Sue's website and click on the Menopause Diet links.
I would definitely order the book if you are interested at all - you don't need the
cookbook though unless you just want it. I rarely use mine. But that's me - I'm a
very simple eater. My book is gone - all my girlfriends are busy passing it around!!
It is the "menopause diet craze" in our town!!

Why
do we overeat?
And why do we
overeat the foods we do?
by Sue
Spataro, RN, BSN
This is not a simple question and the answer is not
easy to find - in fact the answers will be different for each person. There are so many
emotional ties to food that we all find it difficult to separate what we need to eat from
what we want to eat. Find out why we overeat and what you can do to regain control in our

Spicy Beef

Dr. Larrian Gillespie has developed a way for women to eat to stay fit, sharp and lose
weight and keep it off! Dr. Gillespie has been the first to recognize that women have
different nutritional needs - we use foods differently and need to eat differently than
men. Her recipe Spicy Beef comes from her book The Goddess Diet. This stir-fry dish
can easily be made for dinner and enjoyed by the entire family - especially the men! |
